Meet the Principals
Erick Valentin is an accomplished educational leader and passionate outdoor enthusiast, currently serving as the dedicated Principal of Hershey Middle School since 2014. With a wealth of experience and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, Erick has left an indelible mark on the Hershey community.
Erick's journey in education began with a solid foundation, as he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Elizabethtown College. Recognizing the importance of continued growth and learning, he pursued a Master's Degree from Widener University, further honing his expertise in educational leadership and administration.
Erick's professional trajectory showcases his unwavering dedication to education and his ability to excel in various roles. He embarked on his teaching career as a Social Studies educator for the School District of Lancaster, where he spent six years inspiring students to think critically about the world around them.
His exceptional leadership skills caught the attention of the educational community, leading him to assume the role of Assistant High School Principal for the Central Dauphin School District. For three years, Erick's guidance and vision contributed to the overall success and development of the district's high school program.
Building on his administrative experience, Erick embraced the opportunity to become a Middle School Principal within the Central Dauphin School District. For four years, he brought his unique blend of innovation, compassion, and determination to the middle school environment, creating a positive and nurturing atmosphere that allowed students to thrive.
Beyond his commitment to education, Erick finds solace and inspiration in the great outdoors. An avid camper, kayaker, biker, and gardener, he relishes every opportunity to connect with nature and recharge his spirit. His love for outdoor activities mirrors his educational philosophy, emphasizing the importance of exploration, growth, and personal development.
Erick Valentin's multifaceted background, combined with his unyielding dedication to education and his zest for outdoor adventures, make him an exceptional leader and role model within the Hershey Middle School community. His vision, compassion, and drive continue to inspire students, teachers, and colleagues alike, leaving an enduring impact on education and the world beyond the classroom.
Alexandria DeCicco joined the Derry Township School District as the Assistant Principal for the Primary Elementary school in August of 2021.
Ms. DeCicco obtained her bachelor's degree in middle grades education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She minored in mathematics and English. DeCicco received her master's degree from Pennsylvania State University in educational leadership where she also obtained her K-12 principal's certification. She completed master's work at Wilkes University, as well.
Prior to her arrival at Derry Township School District, DeCicco worked as a seventh-grade language arts teacher in Solanco School District for 6 years. She then transitioned to Susquehanna Township School District where she worked as an assistant principal at their elementary school during the 2020-2021 school year.
Ms. DeCicco will work to support your children academically, socially, and emotionally. She believes that building relationships is an integral part of what we do. She believes that all children can learn and it is up to us to diversify our instruction to meet their needs.
Michael Galloway joined the Derry Township School District as the Assistant Principal for Hershey Middle School in December of 2023.
Michael obtained his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in nutrition at West Chester University. Michael received his master’s degree and teacher certification from Temple University in Special Education for grades K-12. Afterward, he obtained his K-12 principal certification from California University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Derry Township School District, Galloway worked in the Central Dauphin School District for eleven years, nine of which he served as a high school special education teacher and coach, his last two years as the dean of students.
